The only exceptions to this are when the courts are being used for matches during the summer and at social tennis. During matches, three courts will be used. One court will always be kept free for members use.
There is no additional charge to use the courts after you have paid your membership fee. However, there is a charge for using the floodlights of £1 for every 20 minutes. Note that, after the lights have ended, you need to wait 8 minutes for them to cool before you can turn them on again, so make sure you have put in enough money to see you to the end of your game.
Broomhill has an active tennis scene for both social players and team players alike. Social Tennis runs from 6.30pm onwards every Thursday with members retiring to the bar afterwards. Courts are reserved for social tennis at this time. However, if courts are free and you don’t wish to join in social tennis, you can do so. There is a social tournament the first Saturday of the month during the summer, often followed by a social event and/or a barbecue.
There are also mini leagues to allow members to play each other and to facilitate new members getting involved in the club.
